ISCRAES 2020 – International Symposium on Climate-Resilient Agri-Environmental Sytems
Contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
Due to the Coronavirus crisis, this event initialy planned for 19-22 May 2020 was postponed to 3-6 November 2020 at the same location.
Agricultural systems are large contributors to global greenhouse gas emissions and environ-mental pollution. An integrated approach is required for their mitigation and the creation of climate-smart, sustainable production systems.
The Climate-Resilient Agri-Environmental Systems (CRAES) group was formed to address this challenge by harnessing multi-disciplinary expertise and engaging with policy makers and the stakeholders.
The ISCRAES meeting is an initiative of the group and will bring together international ex-perts working on carbon-neutral agricultural systems and UN SDGs.
The meeting will cover climate change impacts, environmental degradation, GHG mitigation and sustainability issues under six main themes:
- Arable cropping systems
- Grassland systems
- Agro-Silvo-Pastoral systems
- Decision support tools
- Socio-economic costing
