On World Water Day we reflect on the UN’s World Water Development Report (WWDR) “Leaving No One Behind”. ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿšฐ
ย
“About 4 billion people experience severe water scarcity during at least one month of the year” and “three out of ten people do not have access to safe drinking water”. The predicted 20-30% increase in demand for water by 2050 will drive up water stress and scarcity, which will negatively impact people’s basic human right to Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG6).

As the report’s title suggests, some people and areas are more at risk than others. We must strive to reduce the discrimination in the availability, accessibility, and treatment of the world’s water and sanitation so that people, such as rural farmers and refugees, are not left behind!
