PhD position in population genetics and genomics of adaptation in plants, under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Fulgione. The successful candidate will use population genetics methods applied to whole-genome NGS data to model the postglacial colonization history of Scandinavia by the perennial plant A. alpina and identify genomic regions and phenotypes associated with adaptation to high latitudes. Further, the student will grow plants in controlled conditions to score phenotypes for GWAS.

The student will join a new consortium that links Ecology to Plant Genetics:, a multidisciplinary environment where you will receive highly competitive training in a vibrant research community. Candidates should hold a MS degree (or equivalent), preferably in Evolutionary Biology, Quantitative Biology, Bioinformatics or Plant Sciences. Candidates with some experience in population genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and/or plant sciences will be preferred.
