A PhD position is available immediately in the research group of Alain Tissier

A major focus of our research is on the metabolism and development of plant glandular trichomes in tomato. The goal of the project is to characterize the function of a number of candidate genes identified during our previous transcriptomic analyses and potentially involved in trichome development and differentiation. Mutants will be generated by CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and characterized using state of the art metabolomics and cell biology techniques.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: molecular cloning with Golden Gate or similar technologies; gene editing with CRISPR/Cas9; plant transformation. Experience with statistical methods, including multivariate and principal component analyses is a plus.
