The Julius Kühn Institute is a research centre within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
You will strengthen the working group “New Genomic Techniques” in plants and the interdisciplinary research at the Institute for Biosafety in Plant Biotechnology as a researcher (postdoc). This includes in particular the research and evaluation of the use of advanced methods of gene editing and their potential areas of application, interdisciplinary networking, participation in scientific statements and advice within the governmental tasks of the JKI. Good German and English language skills are necessary.
You have
- a university degree in biotechnology, molecular biology or related disciplines;
- experience with current techniques of genome editing in plants, e.g. as part of a doctorate or as a postdoc;
- sound knowledge in the field of plant biotechnology, molecular biology and/or genetic engineering as well as the relevant methods including bioinformatics tools;
