We are now opening an Associate Professor position in plant stress responses at the Department of Plant Physiology, Umeå University, that is part of Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC). The position will be in close collaboration with IceLab (Integrated Science Lab), Umeå University’s interdisciplinary research hub. You will join the centre of excellence – Stress Response Modeling at IceLab, where we explore universal mechanisms for how living systems respond to stress.

We are looking for a person that is interested in plant stress responses and is using modeling to understand the process. Your background can be in computer science, mathematics, physics or biology as we are looking for a person that can bridge two successful research environments, IceLab and UPSC.

The position presents a unique opportunity to conduct independent research. Join our supportive environment and work at the forefront of multidisciplinary science. We offer a fully funded associate professor position and depending on the applicant a substantial starting package including fully funded PhD student and Post Doc Positions and enough support to equip your new laboratory in Umeå. Teaching at predominantly advanced level is included but to a limited extent. You will have time to develop your research.
